Simple Present Tense
Simple present tense is the tense that we use to state habits, general truth, repeated or regular action in present time period, and fact.
Form:
+) subject+verb 1(infinitive)
Example: I wake up at 6am everyday
-) subject+don't/doesn't+verb 1(infinitive)
Example: - I don't go to sleep at around 8pm, I usually go to sleep at 12am everyday
- he doesn't take a walk everyday
?)do/does+subject+verb 1 (infinitive)?
Example: - do you wake up at 6am everyday?
- does she go grocery shopping everyday?
There are 2 ways to make interrogative sentence(yes no questions):
-we use form do/does+subject+verb 1?(verbal). Example:
a. Do you want to go on a date with me?
b. Does he know Emanuele?
-we use form to be+subject+adjective?(nominal). Example:
Are you sleepy?
There are some rules that you have to notice:
1. Add ES in verb if subject of the sentence is the third person and verb end with O, CH, SH, SS, X, Z.
2. If verb end with a consonant+y, remove y and add ies
3. If verbs end with a vowel+y, we just add s
